Security and your data
A pharmacy's records belong to the pharmacy. This page explains who can see them, where they are kept, and what happens to them.
Each pharmacy apart
Every record in HaxenMed belongs to one pharmacy. Staff of one pharmacy never see another pharmacy's drugs, sales, patients or accounts.
One account per person
Each member of staff signs in with their own account and sees what their role allows: administrator, pharmacist or cashier, and pharmacists and cashiers only in their own branch. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed), never as written. When someone leaves, the administrator switches their account off and they can no longer sign in.
Encrypted on the way
HaxenMed is reached only over an encrypted connection (https), from the browser to the server.
Patients' information
Patient profiles can hold health details: allergies, conditions, blood group and an insurance number. Only your pharmacy's staff see them, and a cashier cannot change them. Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) applies to how they are kept and used.
Where the records are kept
By default in HaxenTech's managed PostgreSQL database in the cloud, which the app reaches only over an encrypted connection. A pharmacy that prefers its records on its own server can agree that with us before it signs. Either way, Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) applies to how pharmacies' and patients' information is kept and used.
A copy of your records
HaxenTech can export a full copy of a pharmacy's records, and the pharmacy can ask for one at any time.
